Stone Coated Metal vs Synthetic Resin Roof Tiles
Both are durable, good-looking export roofing products — but they suit different budgets, climates and architecture. Here is how to decide which to stock.
Material and lifespan
Stone-coated metal tiles use a Galvalume steel core with stone chips, rated to ~50 years and non-combustible. Synthetic resin tiles use an ASA-PVC composite, warranted ~30 years, with fire-retardant Class B1 performance.
Weight, climate and look
Metal tiles are lighter (~6 kg/m²) and excel in storm and seismic zones. Resin tiles give deep, even colour and a classic Chinese/heritage profile, with an ASA skin that holds colour under extreme UV — popular in the Gulf and for villas.
Price and how to choose
Resin tiles usually carry a lower landed cost; metal tiles command a premium for lifespan and fire rating. For salt-air or storm markets choose metal; for hot, high-UV or heritage-aesthetic projects consider resin. Tell us your market and we'll recommend a mix.
